Messy Church

On hiatus due to Covid19

Messy Church - 1st Sunday of the Month (term time)

Messy church is enabled, resourced and supported by BRF (Bible Reading Fellowship), a registered Charity, as one of its core ministries.  BRF makes messy church freely available and derives no direct income from the work that it does to support it both in the UK and abroad.

Aims:

  • to provide an opportunity for people of all ages to worship together

  • to help people of all ages feel they belong in church and to each other

  • to help people have fun and be creative together

  • to introduce Jesus through hospitality, friendship, stories and worship

How long does it last?

Each messy church session is about 2 hours long.  But feel free to come  a few minutes late if you must (we do have an introduction just after 4!) or leave a few minutes early if you need too (Although if you leave early, you do miss the food!)

How much does it cost?

Just come along and drop something in the donation box for tea if you are able, but the pleasure of your company is what we really want!

What do I wear?

Come as you are, but don’t wear your Sunday best as we are likely to get a bit messy!

Can very small noisy children (or adults) attend?

This is a time for families, and fun, and loads of noise is required....so please join us.

Helpers

We need helpers to encourage the children with the arts and craft activities around each table, at Messy Church.  Don’t worry, you won’t have to do it all on your own, the entire team will help, and it just requires you to show up a bit early for some guidance.  If you would like more information about how you could help assist with part of one of services, please let Suzie know

Cooks

The Messy Church experience involves, fun, fellowship, and food.  We have a great cook who can help prepare meals, but it would be great to have others who can serve the meal and tidy up when they are done.

Messy Church is a great opportunity for  everyone in the church to get involved in a  time of worship to excite young people and people who are interested in learning more about faith in a community, but not necessarily church on a Sunday morning.  If you have the time to join in, your support in this important ministry would be appreciated.
